Artist's Description
This is an ant's eye view through the marquis sign of an old closed theater in downtown Detroit. Beautiful tile and marble work dress the outside of the building. Detroit is full of these goodies. The work is painted in traditional transparent watercolor on handmade paper called Indian Village in which the surface has a very rough random texture. The original has a deckle edge and best framed by floating on a matte with the glazing set apart from the piece in shadow-box style.
