Shell Station and Metal Mid-Century Neon Arrow Sign under blue sky. Twisted and rusted out, with a Shell sign beaming above, this signage combo somewhere in Georgia has seen better days. Yes, this is a painting, NOT a photo! This painting won a Juror's Award in the 2020 Society of Watercolor Artists International Exhibition.
I love creating urban landscapes with mid-century signage, cityscapes, botanical subjects, landscapes, figuratives and occasionally abstract work. Mediums include drawing media charcoal, pencil, and conte, traditional transparent watercolor on paper, acrylic on canvas, and mixed media & paper collage. I received my MFA in watercolor painting from Eastern Michigan University. I have a number of awards for my paintings, most recently, the 76th Michigan Water Color Society Exhibition MWCS Members Award, and also am selected as a Finalist to published in Artist Magazine's September special issue "AcrylicWorks 10: The Best of Acrylic" art competition.
