Somewhere in Michigan, there’s a red truck so abandoned and parked for good, that the “For Sale” lettering paint has faded. This watercolor painting features rust, glass, plastic, and faded surfaces. I guess no one’s been home for a while.
I love creating urban landscapes with mid-century signage, cityscapes, botanical subjects, landscapes, figuratives and occasionally abstract work. Mediums include drawing media charcoal, pencil, and conte, traditional transparent watercolor on paper, acrylic on canvas, and mixed media & paper collage. I received my MFA in watercolor painting from Eastern Michigan University. I have a number of awards for my paintings, most recently, the 76th Michigan Water Color Society Exhibition MWCS Members Award, and also am selected as a Finalist to published in Artist Magazine's September special issue "AcrylicWorks 10: The Best of Acrylic" art competition.
